Perhaps obvious to many why zebras may be stripped although there are actually many theories out there. Like the “convict tangs” we swam with yesterday, the design may be examples of disruptive coloration.
Indeed the school of tangs blended together making it harder to decipher one fish from the next. Such a great strategy of survival as we watched a large peacock grouper ambush the school without success, so cool to watch predator prey action!Named for their resemblance to a once popular design of prisoner suits, I searched the sea yesterday for the now popular orange jumpsuit!
